Far Cry 6. Why Is It So Horrible That They’ve Rescued You?

The Far Cry series has always been a bit of an acquired taste. The first game, released in 2004, was set in the Himalayas and starred a rugged protagonist who had to outwit enemies using only his fists, bow and arrows and boat. It was an interesting departure for the gaming industry and it quickly gained a cult following.

Why Is It So Horrible That They’ve Rescued You?

1. It is horrible that they’ve rescued you.

2. You have been through so much and now you’re in their custody.

3. They will probably treat you poorly, considering all that you’ve been through.

The Pros and Cons of Playing Far Cry 6

When Far Cry 6 was announced as a fully fledged sequel to the 2013 release, many were excited. However, upon release, it quickly became apparent that the developers had made some questionable decisions. The Pros and Cons of Playing Far Cry 6 provides an in depth look at the game’s problems and why they are so significant.

First and foremost

Far Cry 6 suffers from terrible writing. This can be seen in almost every aspect of the game, from characters to plot. Conversations are bland and uninteresting, with little chemistry between characters. While this could be due to poor scripting or weak directing, it ultimately makes for a lackluster experience.

Secondly, textures

models have been drastically downgraded when compared to its predecessor. This is most glaringly apparent in the environment graphics which look completely dated and unfinished. Combined with shoddy character animations, things often feelanzt surprisingly jumpy and unstable. This makes for a frustrating gaming experience that is only compounded by the game’s checkpointing issues (more on that later).

Thirdly, gameplay

Has been streamlined significantly from its predecessor in order to make the game more accessible for newcomers. Unfortunately, this means that many of the more challenging elements have been stripped away or made much less demanding overall. This includes elements like crafting and co-operative play which were once key components of the series. As a result, long time fans may find the gameplay formula feeling too simplified overall.

Finally, Far Cry 6 suffers.

Endng remarks

It’s great that Ubisoft has decided to finally give Far Cry fans a new installment in the series, but it’s not great that they’ve chosen to rescue you as the main protagonist. This decision makes little sense considering your character is one of the least likable and most frustrating characters in the franchise. You’re constantly making stupid decisions that lead to disaster and it’s hard not to shake your head at how Ubisoft thought this was a good idea.
